• How expensive are veneers in the UK? The price of veneers relies on the number of veneers and the work required to place them. Often seen as affordable in the long run, veneers on average, can cost £1,000. Now available on 0% finance.
• Are veneers free on the NHS? As this system is cosmetic and often used only to enhance a patient’s appearance, veneers are not accessible on the NHS. Only highly isolated cases can they be considered a clinical need. Read more.

Different kinds of veneers

Due to advancements in modern dental technology, various brands and types of veneers have emerged.

• Porcelain: The most powerful and long-lasting material, these are the most durable veneers. The only prep work they require is a small enamel scraping so that the veneer can attach successfully. Enamel removal is permanent, but only millimetres are often removed to make room for ultra-thin shells. Other porcelain brands require minimal to no prep work – ask your dentist about these.
• Composite: A composite resin that is applied instantly to the tooth, composite veneers differ from porcelain. Applied in layers to the tooth and sculpted, they do not need any preparation work for the tooth.

What’s the veneer procedure like?

Traditional veneer applications may include the altering of your existing tooth shape. However, the latest and more advanced versions of veneer applications use a wafer-thin shell applied to the front of your tooth.

The preparation only scrapes 0.2mm/0.5mm millimetres of enamel to make room for the veneer so it does not look bulky and can bond strongly. More.
