What our patients often ask about veneers:

  1. How much do veneers cost? We offer veneers from £1,000. The price of which, can change due to the number of veneers you might want and the amount of work required to place them. Discover 0% finance.
  2. Are veneers available on the NHS? As veneers are used to improve a patient’s appearance, they are regarded as a cosmetic procedure and will only be provided on the NHS if a clinical need presents itself. However, cases are very rare and unlikely. See more.
  3. Do dentists recommend veneers? The treatment not only enhances the mouth’s aesthetics but promotes strong oral health and hygiene benefits, which will keep the mouth intact and healthy. This means that veneers have become a popular dental recommendation. However, be wary that most dentists will mostly suggest porcelain veneers rather than crowns being marketed as veneers.
  4. Are veneers permanent? Yes. This is due to a slight etching of enamel which cannot be reversed. However, patients should be aware that the original tooth shape does not need to be changed to have a veneer fitted. In the case of composite veneers, these are reversible as they use a composite resin material that is sculpted straight onto the tooth.
  5. Can veneers last forever? With suitable care and maintenance, veneers can last fifteen years or more.

Veneer before and after

Are veneers right for you?

Do suffer or relate to any of the below?

  • I have tainted discoloured or yellowish teeth
  • Suffer from fluorosis
  • I have bite difficulties such as overbites, underbites
  • I have crooked and overcrowded teeth
  • I feel like too much gum is visible when I smile
  • My teeth have chips, cracks and breaks
  • I have gaps (diastema) between my teeth

If you have any of the above oral conditions, porcelain veneers might be a perfect solution to immediately fix and repair your smile.

Porcelain vs composite

Due to advancements in state-of-the-art dental technology, several kinds and types of veneers have emerged.

  • Porcelain: Strong, durable and stain-resistant. The only prep work needed is a small scraping of enamel. Often only millimetres are removed to make room for wafer-thin shells. Other brands of porcelain, however, are even less evasive as they require little to no prep work – ask your dentist about Lumineers or Durathin.
  • Composite: Immediate, strong and natural-looking. Made up of a composite resin material, composite veneers are sculpted directly to the tooth in layers. This means no tooth preparation is needed to place them.

How are the veneers placed?

Regular veneer applications may involve the altering of your natural tooth shape.

However, the latest and more preferred versions of veneer applications use a super-thin shell that is placed over the tooth’s front surface.

The preparation will only remove 0.2mm/0.5mm millimetres of enamel to make room for the veneer – this will prevent it from appearing bulky and ensure the veneer is secure. More.
