How Much is a Filling at the Dentist?
Fillings will vary in price depending on the size of the cavity.
The cost of a filling at a dentist will vary from practice to practice and will be cheaper via the NHS than at private clinics like ours.
However, we know how difficult it is to get an NHS appointment during this time, which is why we’re welcoming new patients and charging from £187.50 for a filling.
Our practice uses only white, composite fillings. We’re amalgam—and metal-free, which means that our fillings blend better with the rest of your teeth and are safer. White fillings are only available on the NHS where clinically appropriate and are provided mostly on incisors or canines.
However, it’s important to note that the cost of a filling will vary depending on the size of the cavity, and in some instances, you might require a dental crown instead if the cavity is too extensive. Dental crowns are more expensive and are typically charged from £990. Our dental crowns are same-day CEREC crowns, custom-made to fit your tooth and manufactured and placed within an hour.

Private payment options:
Patients have multiple options for payment at private clinics, which include:
Some dental practices are accepted by insurance companies like Bupa, AXA, Cigna, Denplan and more. You’ll have to check your coverage details to see what your insurance companies, but typically restorative treatments like fillings are covered. Dental insurance plans can begin from £10 per month and will vary depending on the level of coverage you need.
Many practices offer practice plans, where you can pay a monthly fee, which will entitle you to a certain number of check-ups and hygiene appointments over a year, as well as discounted treatments for fillings, extractions, root canals and more. Typical practice plans can cost from £11 to £30 per month.
If your treatment or total dental fees amount to more than £250 you can use dental finance to pay for your treatment over 12 monthly affordable instalments. For example, if you need two white fillings charged at £187.50 per filling, would cost £31.25 per month with no additional cost of credit, or need to place a deposit.
