As dental implant experts and one of the leading providers of the tooth replacement method in the Surrey and London area, we get asked time and time again “how much do dental implants cost?”
Whilst we understand and appreciate the cost of dental implants around the UK vary from practice to practice, we cannot get to grips with how articles on the internet are not clear enough in detailing the truth around the costs of dental implants.
So as an implant clinic, we thought we would share our knowledge to help you understand the price of dental implants and what you need to be aware of before you buy.
To put it simply, dental implants are a true marvel of modern, advanced dentistry and therefore, you should not expect quality conventional treatments to cost less than £1,500.
Hidden dangers of cheap implants include fractures and breaks, which can translate into a lot of trouble for patients with not enough strength or mass in their jawbone to support an abutment.
So before progressing with implant treatment, it’s important to know what you’re getting – traditional tooth implants or mini dental implants? What material will your crown be made from (porcelain is the standard)?
The cost of dental implants are usually made up of the following; planning stages, implant surgery, the implant, abutment and crown.
As dental implants can be initially expensive, there are various practices that will quote you a price from a certain amount. This might often show the price of the implant itself, but not include the consultation or even the final restoration (crown).
To see a full breakdown of our dental implant costs, you can click here – a consultation is not included, however, we provide one final quote for the implant, abutment and crown. This will not be inclusive, however, of any additional procedures you might require like bone grafts.
Tooth implant prices:
What’s not so believable is that the cost of dental implants is very reasonable and cheaper than many alternatives.
For example, a recent study concluded that in comparison to dental bridges (a tried and tested traditional tooth replacement method), dental implants were initially more expensive, but cost 10% less in the long run.
Therefore, opting for treatments like dental bridges could see you paying 10% more in the future for maintaining and replacing the bridgework.
So, in terms of what is a better investment, dental implants take the award for their long-term durability, strength and positive oral health benefits.
The internet has so much diverse information available, which sometimes can be helpful when looking for a fast answer.
However, we would advise always consulting the professionals, our advice is free and our commitment to providing healthy smiles is unmatched.
When it comes to spending a considerable amount on your smile to repair it, then trust in your dentist, practice and their fees are crucial – that’s why it’s always best to choose helpful clinics that are transparent in their costs.
