We price our veneers from £1,000. For some, this is initially pricey. However, it can be cost-effective in the long term. It is important to bear in mind that the price of veneers also varies, this is because it depends on the amount of work required to position them and the number you wish to have placed. Unfortunately no. The NHS will cover the cost if they have a clinical need. However, as this often is not the case, these placements are rare. See more.
The treatment not only improves the mouth’s appearance but encourages oral health and hygiene benefits, which will keep the mouth intact and healthy. However, be wary of dentists recommending crowns and marketing them as veneers. The most recommended veneer is porcelain.
The procedure is permanent and irreversible. This is because a slight etching of enamel will need to be carried out to ensure the veneer is secure and natural-looking. Often, the scrapings are only a fraction of a millimetre and will not alter the shape or length of your tooth.
With the appropriate care and maintenance, veneers can last longer than fifteen years.
Following advised care and hygiene, veneers can last fifteen years or more.

Old, traditional veneer applications may include altering your natural tooth shape.
However, the most advanced and newly preferred versions of veneer applications use a super-thin shell installed over the front surface of the tooth (like a false nail, only stronger).
The preparation will only remove 0.2mm/0.5mm millimetres of enamel to make room for the veneer – this will prevent it from appearing thick-looking and ensure the veneer is stable. More.
The procedure is widely considered as pain-free, a local anaesthetic might be used to numb the general area. Oral sedation can be used if required, otherwise, this is a normal, fast and comfortable procedure.
Minimal discomfort is also reported following the treatment. The recovery process is relatively simple – it should take around two weeks to adjust to your veneers.
Porcelain vs composite
Due to developments in modern dental technology, several brands and types of veneers have emerged.
- Porcelain: The most robust and durable material. The only prep work required is a small scraping of enamel. Often, only millimetres are displaced to make room for the porcelain shells. However, other porcelain brands are even less evasive as they require little to no prep work – ask your dentist about these.
- Composite: A composite resin material is applied directly to the tooth—these veneers differ from porcelain. Applied instead in layers, the resin is sculpted on the tooth and requires zero preparation.
