Once we have carried out a full assessment to include taking a history of your past dental experiences and of course, your medical history we will decide together which form of sedation is suitable for you.
We will then arrange the appointments necessary and give you full guidance on what to expect. You will need to bring someone with you to escort you and drive you home or escort you home. Generally the medicines we use take a further 24 hours to leave your system fully so we don’t advise driving or even working for the following 24 hrs.
Recovery from Inhalation Sedation can be quicker than Intra-Venous Sedation but we do give the same advice for both.
What we find over time. is that patients who have their treatment under sedation gradually become more confident and find they can even consider a simple visit to the dental hygienist without sedation eventually.
