What is All-on-Four tooth restoration?

Permanently replace missing teeth and enjoy a complete smile makeover with this life-changing full arch rehabilitation treatment.

Many denture wearers in the UK are unhappy with how their dentures look, feel and operate.

All-on-Four has become a popular hybrid denture treatment as it offers an alternative to traditional, uncomfortable dentures.

This dental treatment is used to help replace teeth and restore the smile of those who are missing teeth in one or both jaws.

The All-on-Four treatment is a prosthodontic procedure (e.g. replacing missing teeth) that provides a permanent fixed teeth solution compared to removable dentures.

The All-on-Four treatment is not only the least invasive and time-consuming treatment option for restoring your smile. But it is also often one of the least expensive in comparison to conventional implant options. This is because our dentists can complete the treatment with just four implants.

Why do patients choose Same-Day Teeth over Dentures?

  • A stable fixed solution, compared to removable dentures
  • Rehabilitation can be carried out on a small amount of bone tissue and does not require augmentation – this means a minor surgical procedure, so it is a low-invasive method.
  • No removable prosthesis is required.
  • Provides a natural look and a beautiful smile.
  • Stable, strong biting power, just like natural teeth.
  • The procedure has advanced since older treatments require more implants.
  • All four require less healing time because fewer implants are needed.
  • Durable and reliable: a 2018 study showed a 98% success and survival rate of 5-13 years after treatment out of 200 participants surveyed.

The only graftless full-arch solution available

What does the treatment entail?

Our clinicians will initially place implants (prosthetics) into the jaw and then attach a fixed bridge to these implants.

The treatment is referred to as ‘all on’ because the bridge is attached to 4, 6 or 8 implants.

Usually, the more implants are used, the stronger and more stable the teeth become as pressure is distributed more evenly amongst the implants and, as a result, the jaw.

The benefit of using a bridge here is that there is no need for an implant for every missing tooth.

This makes the procedure quicker, less complicated and more affordable than just using single implants for each gap.

Dental Impant Surgery:I had my dental implants fitted recently and I am extremely happy with the outcome. Ali and the team have done an amazing job since I lost my 2 front teeth over 6 years ago. I had to wait for the surgery for a long time due to my age and the issues surrounding having implants at a young age.I finally had the surgery 12 weeks ago and had my two new crowns fitted last week. They look absolutely amazing and the whole procedure was way less painful than I ever thought it would be.I would highly recommend getting your implants done at the Gentle Dental Practice, you won't regret it!A massive thank you to everyone at the practice!

Fantastic work on my teeth and I would highly recommend! My teeth turned out better than I had even hoped for. If you are in need of any dental work, you would be doing a great disservice if you didn't speak to this practice first. The staff were extremely friendly, there were text updates and all in all an excellent service from start to finish. If you haven't guessed already, I am thoroughly pleased with The Gentle Dentle. Thank you!

Like many people, I have an immense fear of dentistry, and dentists, due to previous experiences.I had two broken teeth and one that had been treated incorrectly by an NHS dentist. I had been in daily pain for about 18 months, and had been put on a 6 month waiting list by my NHS dentist.I called gentle dental to explain my problem and they offered me a same day appointment. They were kind, compassionate, understanding, patient and validating. I’m not sure anybody ever feels completely comfortable in the chair, but It’s the closest I’ve ever come! The work needed was carried out, all of the staff were kind and welcoming, and it showed me that the dentist doesn’t have to be a dreaded place!Thank you so, so much gentle dental! I will definitely be returning.

Dental Implants - 3 New Teeth - June 2022I had the most professional and pain free experience when getting my new tooth implants at Gentle Dental. Honestly I put it off for some many years because I just didn't want to go through the pain. But my experience was totally the opposite. Ali and the wonderful girls were there every step of the way. All my questions got answered and I was reassured everything would work out well. And it did. I was worried for no reason.I did think about going abroad to have it done but when you consider the risk factor, time and professional standards - it made no sense to me. I have known Ali for a long time and knew I would be in the best hands and if there were any issues these would could be resolved easily. If you are thinking of having dental implants at Gentle - don't waste any more time. Just book and get it done. Was it painful ? No, uncomfortable for a few days, yes for sure.I just wish I had it done sooner. Thanks guys, love my new teeth 🙂

Can't thank this practice enough for all their help. I don't post reviews very often, so when I do, it's because an impression has been left! Dr Ali saw me at short notice to help fix a broken tooth. The nurse (I think her name was Danni) was so helpful and kind, as were the rest of the team. Thank you for being there for me in my hour of need (the same day i asked for an appointment!)

This place was recommended to me by family and for a nervous patient the best experience. The reception welcome is cheerful and friendly, beautifully modern area with hot drinks and water on offer.I needed implants, crowns and bridges followed by whitening, so lots of appointments. My dentist Mr Ali Rafai was superb from start to finish, so professional and personable. Throughout the whole process I was cared for wonderfully plus lots of laughs along the way. The constant care during appointments was very comforting, no rushing, and I knew I my needs were Mr Rafai's priority. Plus check up call the next day without fail to make sure everything was going well.Absolutely deserves five stars!

Fantastic experience with Ali. It took 18 months including bone grafting, removing and replacing failed dental implants, invisaline for my bottom teeth which were all over the place and some veneers but now I'm delighted with the outcome.Ali was always very clear about how this wasn't an overnight solution in an honest and forthright manner which gave me confidence that he would deliver results.I was offered several overnight solutions from other dentists locally at a fraction of the cost but when I see how much effort and detail that went into my plan, I know i made the right choice.

All on 4 procedure steps and aftercare

There are certain medical conditions, including diabetes, that may impact the success and lifespan of your implants. We will assess all of these risk factors in detail with you during your consultation so we only proceed with treatment in cases we are sure it will be successful. Here are our steps:

At The Gentle Dental, we offer free consultation meetings.

Here you can meet with one of the experienced members of our talented team of dentists and consultants, and discuss your dental issues and analyse the best treatment solutions.

If you are new to our practice, we will use this opportunity to get a clear picture of your dental history, oral health and specific needs and requirements.

We can also discuss if you have any dental anxieties or phobias, as our main goal is to make any future treatments as comfortable as possible for you.

If we decide that All-on-Four treatment is the best solution, and you are happy to move forward with this, then we will carry out a CT scan to determine the best position for the implants.

We will use the information we gain from this scan to create a personalised treatment plan for you.

After your consultation, we will finalise a date for the implantation appointment.

The implants are inserted into the jaw and retained using small screws. We will insert 4, 6 or 8 implants dependent on your specific needs and requirements.

Usually, the back implants are angled approximately 30 to 45 degrees from the biting plane.

We place the implant in front of the maxillary sinus in the upper jaw (maxilla) and in front of the mental nerve in the lower jaw (mandible).

The positioning and angle of the implants also reduce the need for sufficient bone density in the jaw.

That means patients who may have been unsuitable for single-tooth dental implants in the past could well be good candidates for an All-on-Four or All-on-Six procedure.

Unlike single-tooth implants, there is no need to wait for the implants to fuse with the bone in your jaw when undergoing the same day teeth treatment.

These procedures are ideal for patients who have very few natural teeth remaining or are currently denture wearers but are looking for a more stable, comfortable solution.

During the treatment, it is possible to use a local anaesthetic to reduce discomfort if you would prefer.

In most cases, a bridge is attached to the implants on the same day as implant placement.

A couple of days after the implants have been inserted, the bridge is attached to the implants.

Though this is a temporary bridge, it allows you to smile confidently, eat normally and chew heavily food.

Around 3 months post-implantation, the temporary teeth are exchanged for your final, permanent bridge.

During your treatment, your dentist will provide you with all of the aftercare treatment you need, and you are always welcome to contact us with any issues you feel you are not fully confident about.

The most important thing to remember is to keep up an effective oral hygiene routine. Brushing twice a day is essential.

Use a good quality, soft-bristled manual or electric toothbrush and give all of your natural teeth and the bridge a good brush for 2 to 3 minutes.

Generally, it is recommended you return for a check-up every 6 months and have a dental hygiene treatment to make sure your mouth remains healthy.

Are there any limitations? Is there anything All on 4 can't do?

The ‘all-on’ treatment has an extremely high success rate and often lasts up to 10 years.

However, like all procedures, some factors can increase risks or lead to failures.

Thankfully, most of these issues are avoidable with care from the patient:

  • Smoking
  • Drinking heavily
  • Not following post-treatment instructions

Who is All-on-Four suitable for?

Over 95% of patients were satisfied with their teeth.

If you have lost several teeth in the upper or lower jaws, your dentist may recommend the ‘Teeth Now’ treatment, which is fixed prosthetic teeth that can sustain a new smile forever.

Same-Day Teeth treatment is highly effective, and time-efficient and is becoming an increasingly popular option because it offers better alternatives to bridges and dentures.

All-on-4 price FAQ

The All-on-Four treatment is not only the least invasive and time-consuming treatment option for restoring your smile. But it is also often one of the least expensive compared to conventional implant options. This is because we can complete the treatment with just four implants.

Implant dentistry is not redeemable via the NHS, they are more likely to prescribe cheaper alternatives like dentures.

Whilst you will have to check with your particular provider, insurance typically does not cover the cost of dental implants. However, as dental implants are now more recognised for their durability, insurers are beginning to recognise their quality. More.

Patients have the option to pay for their treatment interest-free for a period of 24 months.
